World Kidney Day is the annual global campaign aimed at raising awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health. Through education and patient empowerment, it aims to reduce the escalation and impact of kidney disease & its associated health problems worldwide.
This year’s theme is “Kidney Health for All - Advancing equitable access to care and optimal medication practice”. At Diaverum, we are proud to be an official campaign partner - visit this page to find out more.
As a leading global renal care provider, Diaverum has been a long-standing supporter of World Kidney Day, and the important work it carries out to improve kidney health around the world.
At the centre of our True care culture is the belief that everyone deserves a fulfilling life, and that every CKD patient worldwide should have access to world-class renal care.
Today, there are still millions of people around the world who do not have access to minimal standards of care, and this is a result of multiple factors, such as limited patient health literacy, gaps in early and accurate diagnosis, and poor access to fundamental medications to treat essential comorbidities. We believe that only by addressing all multiple factors, in a collaborative effort, can we promote a step change for global kidney health.
As such, we proudly support World Kidney Day’s objectives, in line with our current strategy and our holistic care approach. We see health literacy as a key element of our promise to provide life-enhancing renal care to our patients – educating them and by virtue of this, increasing empowerment, shared decision-making and self-care. In addition, we strongly encourage transplantation, for eligible patients, as it is the treatment that ultimately allows them to live a fulfilling life.
