On International Women’s Day, we are proud to celebrate the women at Diaverum who are integral to the provision of life-enhancing renal care in 24 countries around the world.
International Women’s Day is observed every year on the 8 March, to recognise the achievements of all women worldwide and to advocate for gender equality. We asked our colleagues across the world to let us know what the theme for this year’s global campaign - #InspireInclusion - means to them, and to share some inspiring words to empower each other.
Here’s what they said in:
Brazil, Spain, Italy, Morocco, North Macedonia, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Singapore, UK
Diaverum Brazil
“The true evolution of a society is reflected in the equality of opportunities and in the respect for the voice & active participation of women in all aspects of life.
Every step taken towards the full inclusion of women in society is a step towards a fairer, more equitable, and enriching world for all.
Recognising and valuing the unique and essential contributions of women is crucial for building a future where diversity is celebrated, and equality is a concrete reality.”
Diaverum Spain
“Inclusion means striving for genuine representation at all levels of the organisation, ensuring that everyone has a seat at the table.
We have the strength and the capacity to create, to innovate, to seek answers to problems and to create spaces where everyone can fit.
If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. Together we get better every day.
Don't try to be the best in your team, try to make your team the best.
Excellence is not having perfection, but the capacity for persistence in continuously improving our goals and objectives. Excellence is a habit.
Keep believing in yourself and in this great family, you are the protagonist of your life; celebrate every achievement made and every challenge to come. No one can stop you when you realise how feisty, brave and capable you are."
Diaverum Italy
“In our team, we are like a big family, with each of us playing a unique role. Like kidneys, we filter ideas, removing the superfluous and keeping only the best. And inclusion is our special secret, making sure every voice is heard and appreciated, no matter whose it is!
Inclusion means recognising everyone's value and making it a treasure to be shared.
Inclusion also means Communication, Collaboration, Exchange of Opinions, Tolerance; altogether, it serves to develop circumstances that benefit others, regardless of differences in Ethnicity, Religion and Thought.
Collaboration and efficiency in diversity, with opportunities for everyone to grow and achieve in society.
Our goal is union, which we can reach through social integration of those who are marginalised by politics, nationality and diversity, by a society drawn by stereotypes.
Together is better. It is better to belong to a cohesive and collaborative group where everyone is valued in his or her identity and activity, so that they can experience a state of fairness and equal opportunity, and make original, innovative and creative contributions.
No to violence against women, neither verbal nor psychological nor physical.
Women’s silence must never be misunderstood as weakness.”
Diaverum Morocco
"Diversity is the richness of difference. Several different flowers make a beautiful bouquet."
Diaverum North Macedonia
As Cher says, "Women are the real architects of society".
Diaverum Poland
“A woman's strength is her sensitivity.
We are different. However, we can listen to each other and understand diversity. The more diverse backgrounds we represent in our team, where everyone is heard and valued, the more we can contribute to making our world a more beautiful and inspiring place. Without limits. Regardless of age, family or professional status.
Cooperation, support, appropriate communication and a friendly atmosphere, are the key to achieving a common goal.
Professionalism is born from passion, and it is essential in our lives.
Diligence, experience and a good approach are an inspiration for young people.
In the words of Dolly Parton, if your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then, you are an excellent leader.”
Diaverum Russia
“Inclusion is very important for the whole society. It helps not only to see the personality in other people, but also to develop qualities such as tolerance and empathy in us. By creating an inclusive environment, we learn to accept ourselves through the acceptance of others and are able to see a complete picture of the world.
At the same time, inclusion increases the self-esteem of people with special needs and significantly affects the quality and duration of their lives. We are all different and everyone has the right to be realised and accepted in society.
Manifestation in this world, gift and happiness.
Giving kindness, I get happiness!
Unconditional love for yourself and the world.”
Diaverum Sweden
"Within Diaverum Sweden, each patient is unique and we must be able to deliver individual and personal care to each of them. This means that we need to have diversity and dissent in order to meet the different needs of all our patients.
If we want to improve the way we do things, we need to have several different angles, not just one. All people have equal value and the right to the same opportunities.
An inclusive workplace, is one where everyone gets to be their true self, where everyone is equally important regardless of gender, nationality and profession, and where everyone's ideas are taken into account.
Healthcare is a female-dominated workplace, and Diaverum Sweden is no exception. It is important that we cherish all our talents and encourage our employees to continue developing."
"There are countless women around the world who dare to dream, defy expectations, and shatter glass ceilings. It is a reminder that our gender does not define our capabilities, but rather, it amplifies our innate strength, compassion, and determination to create a better world for future generations.
To my fellow women, I urge you to embrace your power, own your narrative, and never underestimate the impact of your voice. Together, let us continue to inspire, uplift, and empower one another, for when women support each other, incredible things happen.
In the words of Maya Angelou, 'each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it, possibly without claiming it, she stands up for all women'."
Diaverum UK
“Inclusion is the cornerstone of empowerment. It’s about breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes and creating spaces where all women can thrive and shine... It’s about ensuring women have a meaningful voice, equal opportunities and the respect they deserve.
Inclusion is a working environment where the line between men and women does not exist. Where on a day-to-day basis, I do not even think or notice my, or anyone else’s, gender. I am proud to work for Diaverum, a company where that has always been the case.
True inclusion, means recognising the unique strengths, voices and experiences of every woman, embracing diversity as our greatest asset, and standing together in solidarity to amplify each other’s dreams and achievements. Working at Diaverum, I witness this regularly, and celebrate not only our differences, but our collective power to create a more inclusive place to work.”
At Diaverum, we firmly believe that we create better, together. Read more about our values, here.
