Diaverum, a leading global renal care service provider, is pleased to announce the launch of its new clinic in Amarante, the 29th in total in Portugal.
The clinic, which will be the first of Diaverum’s facilities in the country to commence operations on an entirely paperless basis, will be comprised of 20 state-of-the-art treatment stations. Situated in the northern region of Portugal, it will cater to patients across eight new areas, providing access to life-enhancing renal care, closer to home.
The clinic is housed within an old Elementary School belonging to the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Amarante (SCMA), a foundation that helps provides care facilities for individuals and families, contributing thus to the conservation and renewal of Amarante’s historical architecture.
With this acquisition, Diaverum Portugal now operates 29 treatment centres, with over 1,000 staff caring for more than 3,600 patients, annually. This rapid development trajectory makes it one of our most dynamic markets, globally.
Sofia Correia de Barros, General Manager for Diaverum Portugal commented: “the launch of our clinic in Amarante reinforces our presence in Portugal and allows us to further provide life-enhancing renal care for dialysis patients in the country. This clinic is also the first of Diaverum’s sites in Portugal to commence operations on a paperless basis, reflecting our company’s dedication to innovation and environmental sustainability”.
