We are delighted to announce that Diaverum Morocco is expanding its network of clinics with the acquisition of the Atlas Nephrology and Hemodialysis Centre in Marrakech, marking its continued commitment to providing quality care in the region.
This acquisition constitutes Diaverum Morocco's second acquisition in Marrakech, strengthening its presence in the Kingdom of Morocco across three cities: Marrakech, Agadir and Meknès.
The Atlas Nephrology and Hemodialysis Centre was founded in 1995 by Dr Mohamed Lisri. A renowned figure in the field of nephrology and former Vice-President of the Moroccan Society of Nephrology, Dr Lisri is recognised for his expertise and his dedication to patients as well as for his passion to evolve over the years the environment of nephrology and dialysis in Morocco. His establishment offers care structures providing care for nearly 300 patients, some of whom are on peritoneal dialysis.
Through the implementation of Diaverum’s world-class and clinical standards, innovative, digital solutions in combination with our True care culture, the Atlas Centre will be well-positioned to offer an even more personalised care offering and a holistic approach covering early and preventive diagnosis through to replacement treatments for kidney function.
Toon Keupink, Managing Director for Diaverum France & Morocco, commented on the news: “For Diaverum, our fundamental mission is to improve the quality of life of patients with renal failure by offering nephrological care that takes into account both the physical and psychological dimension. The acquisition of the Atlas Nephrology and Hemodialysis Centre in Marrakech marks a new crucial stage in this mission and in our desire to continue our development in Morocco”.
Charles-Alexandre Thevenin, Director of Operations in Morocco, added: “We hope, with the combination of the quality of care already practiced by Dr Lisri's teams and our international standards as well as our teams, to consolidate our presence in Morocco, supported by a desire and a continuous commitment to providing life-enhancing renal care to patients in the country”.
Dr Lisri rounded off the comments, stating: “It is with great pleasure that I join the Diaverum group with whom we share values around quality and close human care for our patients. This merger will also allow us to carry out a project that has been close to my heart for a long time, that of building a new nephrology establishment of excellence which will see the light of day within three years”.
Diaverum established itself in Morocco in 2019 with the acquisition of a first clinic in Marrakech. Today, Diaverum Morocco operates five establishments across the country and is in continuous development. With the project of a new centre of excellence led by Dr Lisri we hope to further increase the care capacity and improve accessibility to care for all patients in the region of Marrakech.
