Diaverum is a key participant at the 49th EDTNA/ERCA conference.
We are pleased to share that clinical teams across our organisation have submitted a number of abstracts for participation in the 49th EDTNA/ ERCA conference, scheduled to take place 4 – 7 September.
This year’s conference theme, “Knowledge, Skills & Commitment – Core Elements to Manage Care”, focuses on care management and learning implementation, and will be delivered through a series of educational sessions and workshops.
In total, 19 abstracts have been submitted by Diaverum teams from across Europe and the Middle East, the highest number by far in recent years. While the event is a virtual one, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is expected to draw a significant crowd.
Our organisation is set to provide renal care benchmark and scientific insight into the following key areas:
- Risk and audits
- Innovation in dialysis
- Peritoneal dialysis
Commenting on Diaverum’s participation in the event, Dr. Fernando Macário, Chief Medical Officer, said: “Even in a year of increasing difficulties due to pandemic management, our nursing teams exceeded all expectations, by carrying out high quality scientific research and submitting 19 abstracts to the EDTNA congress. Quality research is essential in contributing to continuous improvement and excellence in care.”
Filiz Akdeniz, Clinical Nursing Director and lead for the scientific nursing work at Diaverum, noted that the depth and breadth of the abstracts’ topics were testament to the value of the company’s nursing staff: “With the introduction of new technologies and an ageing patient population, nurses involved in high quality scientific research are now needed more than ever. The European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/European Renal Care Association (EDTNA/ERCA) is a multidisciplinary organisation. Its mission centres on ‘achieving the best level of education, standards and research for all renal care professionals caring and supporting their patients and families around the world’. Its annual conference has been long-regarded as one of the most important events on the calendar for renal care providers.
