Diaverum’s True care culture is a concept that takes into consideration both the mental and physical well-being of our patients, an intrinsic part of which is patient education. It is with this belief and a drive to empower all patients to live fulfilling lives that the Wuhu Clinic in China brought the local renal care community together, for an exciting and constructive educational session.
On 25 September and with support from the local Ministry of Health, the Wuhu Clinic, located in the Anhui Province of Eastern China, held its first-ever patient and family community event, under the title "Care for Kidney Friends, We Are in Action". The purpose of the event was to forge closer connections between clinical care teams and our patients, by improving patient understanding around preventative methods and treatment awareness of dialysis, as well as to introduce Diaverum to the wider local renal care community.
The director from Department of Nephrology of the Second Hospital of Anhui Province and key member of Anhui Blood Purification Quality Control Council, was invited to deliver a speech and provide on-site consultation to patients.
Ms.Yang Jinfang, Head Nurse for the Wuhu clinic and seasoned professional with more than 43 years’ clinical nursing experience, delivered a speech on “Home Nursing of Vascular Access” to help patients improve their treatment and life quality.
In addition, the clinic activities such as finger exercises to protect patients’ fistula and improve blood flow, and Q&A to interact with patients, hosting an event that was both educational and entertaining.
