We are delighted to announce that Diaverum Spain recently inaugurated the new facilities of its Badalona Dialysis Centre, in a ceremony presided over by Mr. Xavier García Albiol, Mayor of Badalona, in the presence of Ms. Judit Noemí Viñals, Executive Director for the North Barcelona and Maresme Health Sector of CatSalut.

The new Badalona Dialysis Centre has a surface area of over 1,200 square metres, consisting of five rooms, with 40 stations catering for up to 240 patients. Its main focus is the provision of haemodialysis services, provided through Diaverum’s standardised, proprietary care delivery model and supported by our robust digital infrastructure.

Driven by Diaverum’s ESG commitment, the new clinic meets the highest standards of safety, accessibility and sustainability, with 100% of the energy used coming from renewable sources, and more than half being generated by the clinic itself; it also has efficient water management systems that reduce consumption by more than half a million litres per year.

Commenting on the news, Rafael Romanini, Diaverum Senior Vice President Europe & LATAM said: "Undoubtedly, what sets us apart at Diaverum is how we approach chronic kidney disease - focusing on caring for the health of patients and meeting all their needs, by providing a personalised and comprehensive care service for all of them, always committed to innovation through technologies such as artificial intelligence, that support our professionals and the standardisation of all our processes".

"These new, modern facilities, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, allow us to continue delivering the services we have been offering since 2001, in an environment of maximum functionality and comfort. The opening of this new clinic is a result of our firm commitment to this region", mentioned Iván Fraile, Diaverum Regional Director for Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.

José María Ordóñez, Managing Director of Diaverum Spain, added: "We will continue to work in close collaboration with CatSalut, the health authorities and the reference hospitals, to continue providing a service with the highest medical standards & to improve the quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease in Catalonia, to whom we have shown and continue to show our strongest commitment".

With the relocation of the Badalona Dialysis Centre to its new facilities, Diaverum consolidates its solid presence within the North and Maresme Health Sector of Barcelona, which covers 24 basic areas of Health & 13 Municipalities, with a total of nine dialysis centres in Catalonia, providing life-enhancing renal care to more than 1,000 patients annually.
