We are delighted to announce that Diaverum Poland was granted the 2023 ‘Obiektyw Medyczny’ (Medical Lens) Award from Agencja Informacyjna (News Agency), one of the most reputable news agencies in Poland.

The award recognises Diaverum’s long‑standing commitment to improving the quality of life of kidney disease patients, as well as our awareness-raising activities and other educational & disease prevention initiatives.

The Agencja Informacyjna awards were established in 2022, to recognise nonobvious candidates who make a positive contribution to society through their activities. In their first year running, they included two categories: economics and culture. In 2023, medicine was added as a new category.

The award was received by Ryszard Zając, Country Manager for Diaverum Poland, during a ceremony which took place last December, in Warsaw, as part of a meeting of the Cultural Journalism Club of the Polish Journalists Association.

During his acceptance speech, Ryszard said: “We would like to thank the editors of Agencja Informacyjna for recognising our hard work. We hope that this award will pave the way for topics such as the importance of preventive care for healthy kidneys and the ways for improving the quality of life of kidney disease patients, to become even more widely discussed among the public; these are very important issues, concerning a big part of our society”.

“This award honours the entire Diaverum Poland team – the dedicated doctors, nurses and non‑medical staff, who look after our patients every day and enable them to live a fulfilling life – which I am extremely proud of”, he added.

In Poland, nearly 4.5 million people are living with chronic kidney disease. It is estimated that up to 90% of these people may be unaware they have it, as it can be asymptomatic in the initial stages. This is an insight that's reflected on a global scale – which is why at Diaverum, we place a big focus on patient education and preventive care.

Diaverum has been providing life-enhancing renal care for more than 22 years in Poland. We now operate 24 dialysis clinics, 17 outpatient clinics and a nephrology department, where over 800 staff treat over 9,000 patients.
