Experts from within Diaverum North Macedonia and the national renal care community recently came together for a special educational conference.

The event, hosted by Diaverum on 28 November, carried the title “Chronic Kidney Disease - prevention and treatment" and was held in the capital city of Skopje. It was attended by over 90 renal care professionals, offering a constructive forum in which to learn more about the latest scientific and medical advances in preventive methods around chronic kidney disease, as well as disease management. The Conference was preceded by a roundtable session attended by both public and private medical institutions, for an in-depth discussion on improving Vascular Access (VA) management and ways of enhancing the lives of dialysis patients.

The event was presided over by Dr Fernando Macário, Chief Medical Officer,  who presented Diaverum's latest insights on prevention and digitisation of CKD patients. Keynote speakers included  Dr Igor Nikolov from the PHI University Clinic for Nephrology, who presented the topic "Enrolment of dialysis patients on the transplant list - dilemmas and problems".

Commenting on the event’s success, Dr Macário noted: ““I am delighted that during my visit to North Macedonia, I had the opportunity to meet nephrology professionals  from both the private and public sectors, and together discuss vascular access management, which is a key component of our clinical strategy at Diaverum to enhance the life of renal patients.”

“I was also pleased to introduce to the audience Diaverum’s latest insights on prevention and digitalisation in CKD. I would like to extend my congratulations to the Macedonian team who, with passion and enthusiasm, has delivered a step-change in clinical performance since joining the Diaverum family in 2018”.
