Representatives from Diaverum were key participants in North Macedonia's first-ever national Renal Expert Academy.
Taking place in Skopje last month, the event was the result of a collaboration between the Minister of Health to North Macedonia, Dr. Fatmir Mexhiti, the Swedish Ambassador to North Macedonia, H.E. Ami Larsson Jain, and Business Sweden, an initiative formed between the Swedish government and private business sector to help promote Swedish-born organisations on a global scale.
The event brought together more than 50 experts from both North Macedonia and Sweden to share insights, learnings and best practices, with the objective to improve renal care in their respective countries. It was opened by the North Macedonian Minister of Health and the Swedish Ambassador, who welcomed the initiative as the first step towards forging a long-term partnership.
Representatives from both Diaverum’s executive leadership team and North Macedonia country management participated in the event, with Chief Medical Officer Dr Fernando Macário joining a panel covering topics such as preventive renal care, pre-dialysis and patient-centric models of renal care. Commenting on the event, he said: “I was delighted to have participated in the first Renal Expert Academy here in North Macedonia, and met with nephrology experts from both the private and public sectors”.
“During the session, I had the opportunity to share best practice methods from our other markets, underscoring Diaverum’s commitment to offering life-enhancing renal care through a multidisciplinary, integrated approach. I also presented the benefits of our breakthrough Vascular Access (VA) AI model, and how Diaverum is leveraging digital innovation to offer personalised, standardised, efficient and high-quality care for its patients”.
