Medical representatives from Diaverum are among experts traveling from around the world to meet in Paris, for the European Renal Association (ERA) Congress.

The Congress, now in its 59th year, is the largest annual meeting of its kind in Europe. Taking place between 19 – 22 May, its theme, “Innovation, Prevention, Preparedness” will focus on the latest advancements and scientific innovations in nephrology. The hybrid format of the Congress will be offering educational activities and top scientific content, but also innovative networking opportunities via a new digital platform.

A select group of Diaverum representatives will be participating in the Congress, including Mathias Haarhaus, Head of Science and Research, who will present his recently published study, “Improved immunologic response to COVID-19 vaccine with prolonged dosing interval in hemodialysis patients”. Specifically, the study demonstrates for the first time in dialysis patients, that a prolongation of the interval between vaccine doses elicits a better antibody response, which is in concordance with previous findings in the general population, thereby potentially impacting future vaccination strategies.

Commenting on the event’s significance, Mathias said: “ It is with a great sense of pride and responsibility that we are sharing our study with peers and colleagues from around the world. At Diaverum, our medical teams are highly adept at engaging in the right conversations, and staying abreast of medical & scientific developments to refine the required knowledge, skills and competencies that ensure we develop and drive innovative standards & best in-class care”.
