Diaverum representatives were amongst more than 540 renal care professionals, that came together in Lithuania last month for the 51st EDTNA /ERCA International Conference.
Running under the theme “Kidney Care in a challenging world – economic & sustainable implications”, this year’s conference focused on the importance of addressing both economic and sustainability aspects in renal healthcare. Hosted over three days, between 14 – 17 October, in the capital city Vilnius, the Conference programme included a series of scientific presentations, educational sessions and workshops, offering participants a lively platform to exchange views and best practices around the topic.
As a leading global provider of renal care, Diaverum is a long-term participant in EDTNA/ERCA conferences. This year’s event brought together more than 30 representatives from our global network, including Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia and the UK. In total, 11 presentations and 10 posters were presented. Our delegates covered several aspects of renal care, with a strong focus on patient quality of life, perception of care, and the digitalisation of healthcare. The topic of 'Health Literacy and Healthcare Optimisation’, was also addressed the corporate educational session.
In one of the Conference’s highlights, Diaverum hosted a lively and engaging symposium for 50 delegates around the topic of Health Literacy. Speakers included senior members of the Corporate Nursing team: Suzanne Pearce, Corporate Nursing Director, emphasised the importance of patient health literacy and the impact of staff education methods, along with presenting practical exercises; Sokica Gegovska, Country Nursing Director for Diaverum Macedonia, presented Diaverum's education initiatives and preliminary results from the Health Literacy Survey; Anetta Cekała, Nursing Director for Diaverum Poland, discussed the impact of patient education on healthcare outcomes. The symposium also featured an interactive health literacy quiz, led by Israel Silva, Corporate Nursing Director, allowing attendees to assess their knowledge in this area.
